I built this site for a small group of Italian businessmen who have been importing and exporting from the Shenzhen (and Shanghai) area for over 15 years. The site included both an English and Chinese version; for the same flat fee. As of this writing they had about 30 different items/products (mainly different Italian made health foods) in their database. The website also required QR codes for each product (which are generated automatically via a javascript plugin I use). Included with all of my sites is a backend management console/user-interface for my clients so that they can update, change and add products to their online shop at any time. When you purchase a site/system from me you can change product descriptions, prices, in-stock status, pictures, and QR code information. There is also a custom blogging feature built-in to the site so that the owners/managers can upload/post informative articles, opinion pieces, and recipes for the preparation of their products (inlcuding their own pictures relating to such various topics).
The site is linked to an ecommerce platform. This is the first one they're using. In this case it was www.kxg.com (开心购, "Kai Xin Gou" these three Chinese characters (and the name of the platform) essentially mean "Happy Shopping"). KaiXinGou is a very good eCommerce platform in China if you want to sell your products directly to Chinese consumers living in China. It makes it very convenient for local Chinese to quickly and easily purchase direct imports. They take advantage of certain special import and export rules that apply to businesses that set themselves up in Shenzhen's QianHai area.
As Chinese consumers are absolutely crazy for mobile phone use/browsing of sites (moreso so than in the US), it is totally mobile-friendly and can be used/viewed on any size device including small Apple phones, various tablet sizes, and of course desktops.
This site also came with two (2) years of China direct-line ISP hosting in Hong Kong. The fastest alternative to hosting inside China is through one of the direct routes through Hong Kong. (Read more about this here.)
This site included:
Two (2) Websites: One Chinese, One English
Searchable Product Database
Backend Interface to Upload Pictures of New Products and Changing Product Details
