Audio Books for Kids in China Total Price: $1200 USD
(Please note: unlike most of the websites I make, this one is NOT designed for phones.) This website was made for a former Canadian school teacher who has moved to China. Children can read and listen to simple audio novels simultaneously while in the classroom. This website is designed to be pulled up in a browser by a teacher in the classroom, it is not designed for mobile devices. It includes a custom-made javascript audio player; to see it in action go here: sample of the audio player.
By making it completely free Tom is attracting users from all over China. There is no charge: potential teacher/users only need an internet connection and a computer (the website is then pulled up in a browser). Naturally, it was a necessity that internet connection speeds and fast loading pages were part of the bargain as it were. The pages load the audio files quickly at most locations throughout China. My sites provide exceedingly fast connections to the mainland through Hong Kong.
The price for this site may seem higher than one would expect. The reason is that it is quite "deep". Deceptively deep indeed: there are about 68 pages in this site.
We've also set up a donations page with a scannable QR code using Wechat payments (you can visit his donations page here). This means that virtually any Chinese person, anywhere in China, at anytime, can instantaneously transfer money to the owner of this website.
This site also came with two (2) years of China direct-line ISP hosting in Hong Kong. The server I use is located in the Shatin district of Hong Kong (Read more about this here.)
This site included:
One (1) Chinese website (He only wanted an English language website.)
Custom Coded Javascript Audio File Player
Wechat Payments Button (scannable QR code embedded in the website)
