How to Handle Asynchronous Code in NodeJS
Date Created: 2021-02-23

There are three main ways to deal with asynchronous programming in node/javascript: 1) you can use .then() and .catch(), 2) callback functions (which is the oldest and perhaps the easiest, or 3) use the new javascript keywords for handling promises: aync and await. The async and await keywords represent what many believe is the most modern approach. Using these keywords makes code that is asynchronous/IO (input and output) much easier to read and reason about. It makes promises easier to understand in a way that resembles synchronous code.
